The MAGB’s Executive Director, Julian South, was fortunate last week to visit the newly completed building at the James Hutton Institute in Dundee. Built to house up to 260 staff, the majority working on barley research, there are laboratories, plant growth rooms, imaging equipment, a phenotyping centre and a genomics suite alongside offices, meeting rooms, training facilities and a large lecture theatre.
MAGB are one of a number of industry stakeholders who see the development as central to their strategy for a sustainable barley supply for the future.
