Formed in March 1999 as the result of a merger between Hugh Baird & Sons Ltd (est. 1823) and Moray Firth Maltings plc (est. 1967), Bairds Malt Ltd currently operates five malting sites across the U.K. with a total annual production capacity of some 250,000 tonnes of malt. Around 25% of this production is exported to many countries where British malt is held in high regard.

Our plants are located in the best malting barley growing regions in the U.K. and have a policy of using locally grown malting barley. As suppliers to many well-known brewing and distilling companies, we take quiet pleasure from the fact that a great many people enjoying a drink indirectly appreciate our efforts in producing malt of the highest possible quality.
